Artist's Statement
I find portraiture such a fascinating art form. The opportunity to describe the idiosyncrcies of the subject, through colour and expression, is always an enjoyable challenge. I gain great personal satisfaction from paintings that endure, defy time like Dorian Gray, by never ageing even though the period in which they were painted is always obvious. Much has been achieved in recent years to advance this most noble tradition with renewed momentum and the painted portrait is once again a broadly accepted attribute.
