| Artist's Statement |
|
I believe that producing a portrait for a client, whether it is human or animal, is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work as an artist.
Sitting for a portrait is an enjoyable experience and I feel that it is as important to show the character and personality of the sitter through the portrait as much as the physicality. |
| |
| Statement |
|
After a discussion over the telephone, a meeting is set up to discuss the portrait in more detail. At this stage I can show the client further examples which may help form ideas as well as discussing any ideas the client may have.
I will then make a number of preliminary sketches as well as some photographs. I shall then proceed to work from this reference in my studio. |
