2004 - The Leverhulme Trust’s Artist-in-Residence Award at Queen Mary, University of London received for a portrait series of the 20th century dictators.  
2000 - The UK Millennium Awards Fellowship received for a portrait series of Principal Dancers of the Royal Ballet.

The National Portrait Gallery invited Alla to lead her own debates on modern portraiture ‘The Changing Face of Portraiture’. The series of 2004-06 included top critics and artists and were partnered by The Times.

The series became ‘Critic’s Choice’ on Saatchi Gallery, ‘Image of the Week’ in The Times’ Art Review, shown as animated banner on the Europe’s largest digital screen on top of the Axel Springer Building in Berlin and featured in Die Welt, Welt am Sonntag, Sleek Magazine and Der Freund Magazine.  
The Daily Express- Portraits of Gurkhas for the Daily Express’s Gurkha Campaign.
