Artist's Statement   “My own impression about what makes a good portrait is that first and foremost likeness is the main concern. I feel that too many artists try to be concerned with the style of the painting and often sacrifice elements of basic observation so that the picture pleases them first and the client second.”

Statement      “Depending on the sitter's availability, I generally try to have at least a couple of sittings and then work from preliminary sketches and photographs taken during those sittings. If the client has more time to sit then great, but if they are particularly busy then I can work from photographs taken at one initial sitting. The commission does not come framed, as I prefer to leave this to the discretion of the client.”
