Lucy McKie has been elected as a full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. Founded in 1882, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters (The ROI) is unique in that it shows exclusively in oils. The institute has royal status granted by King Edward VII in 1909 and past members and exhibitors include Alma Tadema, Sickert, Dame Laura Knight, Fantin Latour and Rodin. Today the ROI membership includes many of the leading oil painters in the country, amongst them a number of Royal Academicians. The ROI annual exhbition is held at the prestigious Mall Galleries.
